The almond trees grow on Mallorca

Mallorca has also already blossomed: seven million almond trees sugar the Germans’ favorite island with soft pink snow until March. Flowering begins on the east coast and slowly advances west. The apricot blossom follows four weeks apart. The splendor merges particularly spectacularly with the strong yellow of the dandelion meadows on the monastery mountain of Randa. In March, yellow daisies and white rock roses bloom – this is the best time for a tour of the island by rental car.

The temperatures in February: at least six, maximum 14 degrees. One week flight and four-star hotel with half board z. B. in the port town of Port de Soller is available in February and March per person in a double room from around 450 euros.

The west of Cyprus is particularly attractive

In Cyprus, you can experience the almond blossom from February – the most beautiful in the west of the island, around the foothills of the Troodos Mountains. While the snow flashes from the mountain tops, the wild orchids are already blooming on the coast and in the hills. And when the orchards behind the Ayia Napas hotel zone glow in the rich yellow of oranges until mid-March, it is the best time for bike tours.

The temperatures in February: at least eight, maximum 17 degrees. A week’s overnight stay with breakfast in a good four-star hotel costs around 500 euros per person with a flight in a double room.

Sicily blooms in February

Yellow mimosas and pink almond blossoms: in Sicily it already buds promisingly in February. A little later the island sinks into a true frenzy of flowers. The gorse colors the slopes around Taormina yellow. If you then take the leisurely “Circumetnea” slow train to puff around Europe’s largest volcano in five hours, you will feel like you are in a huge botanical garden.

The temperatures in February: at least eight, maximum 16 degrees. For a week’s holiday in a four-star hotel in Taormina with flights and bed and breakfast, you should calculate around 520 euros per person in a double room.

Blooming landscapes in Crete

In spring, Crete tempts you to take a car tour through a blooming landscape. The wild tulips and orchids sprout in protected valleys as early as spring. In March, daffodils and daffodils are already in full bloom. At the beginning of April, true carpets made of red poppy between the ruins of Knossos offer a magnificent sight. As the season progresses, the colorful carpet moves higher and higher into the mountains, while in the valley and on the coast from May everything seems to wither under the scorching summer heat.

Fuerteventura – endless sandy beaches

Endless sandy beaches are probably the first thing you think of when you think of Fuerteventura. In the north there are the dune beaches around the main town Corralejo. In the south of the island – whether on the Costa Calma, near Jandia or Esquinzo – there is no such flair. There, vacationers are often in their hotels all the time instead of enjoying and experiencing village life. While the beaches of most of the other Canary Islands have black sand, Fuerteventura scores with its white sand for many holidaymakers.https://123helpme.me/argumentative-essay-topics/ The longest beach in the whole of the Canary Islands is the Cofete at 14 kilometers, explains Jose Miguel Frade from the island’s tourist office. For Morales, Fuerteventura is the most summery Canary Island in terms of climate. The strong wind can be a bit uncomfortable, but it offers good conditions for kite and windsurfers, says Sven Görrissen, who is responsible for the western middle distance at Tui.

Lanzarote – the slightly different island

The smallest of the four large Canary Islands is often highlighted. In addition to lava landscapes, there are many places to swim, but there is also a lot on offer for active vacationers and culture enthusiasts. The price level is a little higher than on the mass islands. In addition, the flight connection is not that good. The island is especially popular with Spaniards. What many Germans do not know: There are many bright beaches on Lanzarote.

Tenerife – the largest island

It is the largest of the Canary Islands and therefore, in the opinion of many, the most varied. “I have everything on one island,” says Carmen Fernandez from the Spanish Tourist Office. Basically, the island is divided into two parts: north and south. In the south, classic beach holidays are particularly popular. “Swimming, sun, beach, hotel resorts, promenades – but not much else”, Manuel Morales describes this part of the island. In the much greener north there are hardly any sandy beaches, where hiking is popular. The island is dominated by Teide, Spain’s highest mountain. For many, it is a reason to come to the island. In addition to hiking and sunbathing, Tenerife also offers an exciting capital, amusement parks and golf courses.

Gran Canaria – the favorite of vacationers

Gran Canaria is the most popular Canary Island among holidaymakers from Germany. Similar to Tenerife, Gran Canaria is divided into north and south. The north is cooler and more humid, but also has a larger vegetation. The south is drier, warmer and sunnier. German holidaymakers are clearly drawn to the south, because of the beaches there, especially at Maspalomas. Thanks to numerous apartments, the south of the island is particularly popular with families. The island also attracts a young party crowd. The north is usually only used for an excursion – for example to the island’s capital Las Palmas.

La Palma – island of deceleration

If you don’t feel like mass tourism and don’t want to lie on the beach all the time, come here. Hikers love La Palma. There are only a few larger hotels.

La Gomera – Tenerife’s appendage

Unlike La Palma, Gomera does not have its own large airport. However, the island benefits from its proximity to Tenerife. Jet boats depart from there. That is why some holidaymakers also book a combination of the two islands. There are also many golf courses here.

El Hierro – the dropout island

It is the smallest and most pristine of the Canary Islands and is also known as the “dropout island”. Among other things, one of the smallest hotels in the world is located here, it has only four rooms. Let your mind wander and wander: That works well on El Hierro. In contrast to La Palma, the mountains are much lower. Divers also get their money’s worth on El Hierro.

Easter is travel time, and many German holidaymakers then long for spring. The wanderlust is great and the first wave of travel of the year is rolling in. We show where it is particularly beautiful now and especially where it is not completely overcrowded.

1. South Tyrol:

If we are still shivering north of the Alps in March, spring is already breaking out south of them. In South Tyrol a grandiose mountain landscape meets palaces and castles. Here the alpine kisses the Mediterranean cuisine. Especially in St. Kassian, South Tyrol’s first address for gourmets. There are three Michelin stars for every 860 inhabitants! The South Tyrolean mix of rustic and southern lifestyle attracts thousands of visitors in summer and winter. In spring you are still relatively undisturbed on the spectacular hiking trails around world-famous mountains such as Langkofel, Rosengarten or Drei Zinnen.

Insider tip: The secluded Sarntal, approx. 20 kilometers north of Bolzano, is very quiet and authentic thanks to its location. The small farming villages offer a breathtaking view of the Dolomites in an intact nature. There is still a lot of handicrafts, including the rare quill pen embroidery (traditional costume embroidery). It is best to stay in one of the farmhouses that rent out beautiful holiday apartments.

2. Amalfi Coast:

Further south in Italy you can experience a natural spectacle in a class of its own. Those who have not yet experienced it will not believe that it exists: the breathtaking “Costiera Amalfitana”. The dream coast between Naples and Salerno sticks to the steep slopes like a picture book idyll. Here the locals live from tourism and lemon cultivation. Everywhere there is the delicious lemon basket “Limoncello” and dishes with freshly harvested limoni. In summer the world-famous towns of Amalfi and Positano are particularly crowded. Those who want to enjoy all the charm of this beautiful coast have more luck at Easter. Hotels and pensions above the popular coastal road are then also a bit cheaper and quieter.

Insider tip: hiking on the “Sentiero degli die” path of the gods. Many vacations get stuck on the coastal road. The Gods Path offers fantastic views of the Gulf of Salerno, the vineyards and the colorful villages that stick to the cliffs like birds’ nests. If you are not afraid of heights and step climbing, you have to take the path above Praiano. The entire route from Bomerano to Positano takes about four hours.

3. Alsace:

The region between the Rhine valley and the Vosges, between France and Germany is particularly popular with gourmets. In Alsace, first-class wine and many good restaurants pamper both locals and guests. The three largest cities offer many architectural sights such as the Strasbourg Cathedral or the old town of Colmar. The hilly surrounding area is ideal for cycling and leisurely hiking. In this idyll you can also switch off wonderfully for a short trip.

Insider tip: The village of Mittelbergheim at the foot of the Vosges is one of the most beautiful villages in France with its proud winegrowers’ houses. That makes it an ideal place to stay for a short trip. A walk on the wine trail offers a beautiful view of Mittelbergheim and the fortress d’Andlau. You can also learn a lot about viticulture in Alsace from the 17 information boards.

4. Lake Constance with the island of Mainau

At the foot of the Alps lies Germany’s largest lake, which stretches as far as Austria and Switzerland: Lake Constance. The “Swabian Sea” is ideal for short trips, as it offers plenty of variety for water sports enthusiasts, hiking fans and gourmets. The flower island Mainau is the biggest tourist attraction of the ten islands of Lake Constance. Here you can admire an orchid show in addition to daffodils and tulips in the botanical grounds from March 24th to May 7th.

Insider tip: adrenaline rush or stress relief? Both are possible with a sightseeing flight in the Zeppelin. You can book from 30 minutes to two hours in the legendary vehicle in Friedrichshafen. In the off-season from 13.03.2017 – 28.04.2017, the prices of the not-so-cheap entertainment are a little more affordable. For 30 minutes you have to calculate with about 170 euros. A flight over the glittering Lake Constance is definitely an unforgettable experience.

5. Vienna:

It is always beautiful on the beautiful blue Danube. Whether you are interested in architecture or you are crazy about Sachertorte, whether you are an opera lover or a folk music fan: Vienna has always been a place of longing for many people. The Austrian metropolis offers almost too much for a short trip. It is best to concentrate on one focus: For example, you can immerse yourself in a completely different world with an excursion through the traditional coffee houses in Vienna.

Between the Alps and the Mediterranean: Six highlights in the south of South Tyrol One of the most beautiful coastlines in Europe: The most popular hotels on the Amalfi Coast Germany like in a picture book: Holidays in the Allgäu

Insider tip: Café Prückel on the Ringstrasse is unique. Not only because you can still smoke here. After the Second World War, the café was redesigned in the 1950s style by the Viennese designer Oswald Haerdtl. Its equipment is still preserved today in every detail, right down to the perforated reading lamp. Centrally located between the University of Applied Arts and the city park, you will experience a coffee house culture that only exists in the Danube metropolis. Ideally with a perfectly served hot cup of melange and a delicious piece of apple strudel.

Finally on the well-deserved vacation. With the help of hotel review portals on the Internet, supposedly the perfect vacation can be booked. But is that really true? Critical voices are increasing accusing the portals of not taking sufficient action against manipulated reviews.

Book a perfect vacation online?

If you can only go on vacation once a year, you naturally want everything to be perfect. “Stiftung Warentest” has found out that over 30 million Germans plan their vacation on the Internet. Seven million of them also find out about their accommodation online: In hotel review portals, guests who have already been there provide information about cleanliness, quality of the food, friendliness and much more. Apparently there can be no more security when you book your vacation. But what if the reviews do not come from real guests at all, but were made by the hotel operators? (Book a holiday – How helpful are reviews on the Internet?)

Hotel review portals are prone to manipulation

“Stiftung Warentest” has checked various hotel rating portals for their topicality, ease of searching, operation and susceptibility to manipulation. In the last point, almost all portals failed: the filters that were supposed to automatically recognize fictitious reviews usually failed.
